Mr. Travis Alton Scoggins, 66, of Rydal, GA., died Sunday, June 14, 2020, in Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome from complications of pancreatic cancer.
Travis was born in Fairmount, GA., on October 21, 1953, son of the late Glenn Alton Scoggins and Sybil Cochran Scoggins. He was a member of the 1971 graduating class of Fairmount High School, was employed by Apache Mills and was a member of Pleasant Olive Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Audrey Scoggins Young and Patsy Scoggins.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Born Scoggins, two daughters; Natasha Scoggins Worthan and her husband Joe, Bridget Scoggins Martin and her husband David, one son, Alton Scoggins and his wife Amanda. Grandchildren; Lucas, Rileigh and Gaines Worthan, Chloe, Leland and Juliette Martin, Cody and Skyler Robinson and Ashtin Scoggins, great-grandchildren; Mateo Robinson and Dakota Robinson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl Scoggins and Iris McKinney and Ronnie and Sandra Scoggins. his brother-in-law, Bobo Young; nieces and nephews; Jennifer Hendley, Dustin Scoggins, Kyle Young, Brandon Young, and Craig Scoggins along with numerous cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services for Travis Alton Scoggins will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM from Pleasant Olive Baptist Church near Rydal with Pastor, Rev. Eric Elrod officiating and Mike Scoggins speaking. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Duane Martin speaking. Pallbearers include; Duane Martin, Jason Ownbey, Mike Scoggins, Mark Scoggins, Myron Scoggins and Mitchell Scoggins. Al Willis will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The Scoggins family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 16th. between the hours of 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM
