Patsy Ann Smith Colleps, 81, of Resaca died Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Patsy was born on March 18, 1939 in Gordon County, Georgia, daughter of the late Dennis E. and Ida Mae Culberson Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Wynette King and Neatha McClain, four brothers, Robert Smith, Jimmy Smith, Toby Smith and Billy Smith. For many years she was employed by the Dalton Elks Lodge as bookkeeper and later owned and operated J&P Convenience Store located on Highway 53 in Calhoun. She was a graduate of Resaca High School and Rinehart College.
Survivors include her daughter, Missy Colleps Green of Resaca; her son, David S. Colleps Jr. of Resaca; grandchildren, Candi Horton, Corey Colleps, Justin Carey, Jordan Romaine and Grace; great-grandchild, Kendall Colleps and Bryor Colleps; three sisters, Mary Dell Smith Waters, Jane Smith Defoor, Linda Smith Potts; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 8th at 4:00 PM at Hill City Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, March 7th between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the funeral Home.
