Larry Wilson Greeson, Sr. of Adairsville, GA passed away suddenly on September 11, 2020. He was born on February 21, 1942 in Calhoun to the late BW Greeson and Alene Moore. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Greeson.
He was kind, fun-loving, had a huge heart, and loved his family and church. Larry has been a member of Union Grove Baptist Church since 1969. He was a Sunday school teacher and the Organist. He proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of Calhoun Restaurant Service and a Claims Adjuster for Emergency Disasters. He loved to travel and see the world. He will be missed greatly by the ones he loved.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Dilbeck Greeson; two sons, Larry Wilson Greeson Jr. (Michele Greeson) of Adairsville and Gregory Richard Greeson (Donna Greeson) of Dalton; grandchildren include, Kady Greeson and Kyle Greeson of Adairsville; brothers and sisters, Joann Cabe, Crawford Greeson, Brenda (Al) Turner, and Danny Greeson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Juanita Cox, Gerri Hammond, and Lucy Dilbeck; adopted daughter, Tami West; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The Funeral will be Monday, September 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM from Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Collum and Rev. Joel Alexander officiating. Music will be arranged by Travis Stephens. Burial will follow the service, with United States Army Honors, in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include, Todd Stephens, Anthony Gallman, Jason Thomas, Donny Mattila, Rohan Myrie, Tami West, Chris Cabe, and Scott Clemens.
