Obituary

Jim Schutz, 75, of Park Hills formerly of Georgia, passed away May 24, 2022, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.  He was born May 15, 1947, in DeSoto, to the late Ernest and Jerline (Christopher) Schutz, then spent his childhood in Potosi.  Jim served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 plus years and later retired from Cobb County Government in Georgia.  He attended Bible Missionary Baptist Church in Park Hills and was a member of the VFW #2426 Post in Desloge.  Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering, woodworking, going to the Casinos with his late wife in Biloxi, MS.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine (Harper) Schutz; and one brother, Thomas Daniel Schutz.

          Jim is survived by his children, Pamela (Joe) Saterdalen, James Michael (Amanda) Schutz, Jr., and David Ernest Schutz; grandchildren, Sinead, Catie, Noah, Hannah, Andrew and Abby; one great-grandson, Soren; two sisters, Sue (Leroy) LeChance, Debbie Cawley; sister-in-law Diana Mosier Schutz and significant other, Becky Ruble; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, also survive.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, May 28, 2022, from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.  There will be a VFW service, prior to the time of service at 12:45 PM.  Pastor Jon Seward will be officiating.  Inurnment will take place in the Georgia National Cemetery, in Canton, Georgia at a later date.
