Mr. James Edward “Jim” Foster, age 86, of Calhoun, Georgia, died Wednesday at his residence following a lengthy illness.
James was born on July 12, 1934, in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Cliff and Winnie Foster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters.
Mr. Foster worked at ALC, Inc., in Tennessee and transferred to Calhoun, Georgia with the company in 1977 for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Renia Mae Walker Foster to whom he married on January 30, 1954, and by his children Randy (Patti) Foster, Armuchee, Georgia; June (Guy) Brown, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; Martha (Samuel “Buster”) Underwood, Ringgold, Georgia; Rick (Kim) Foster, Calhoun, Georgia; and Angee (Danny) Satterfield, Calhoun, Georgia.
He has nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He also has many cousins, nieces, and nephews who survive.
The family will receive friends 2:00 - 4:00 pm Saturday, January 16, 2021, at the Sugar Valley Baptist Church, 3742 Sugar Valley Rd NW, Sugar Valley, Georgia 30746. The funeral will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Mitch Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of James Foster to the Sugar Valley Baptist Cemetery Fund.
