Obituary

Jeff Davenport 46, of Calhoun, Georgia died Monday, March 29, 2021. He was born on July 10, 1974 in Dalton, GA to Robert B. Davenport and Polly Anne Shook Bunyard. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bonnie Mae Davenport and Luther and Dema Shook; step father, Clark Bunyard. 

Jeff graduated from Calhoun High School in the class of 1991. He attended Dalton State College where he received an Associates of Science Degree in Computer Networking Technology. In 2012, Jeff received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology in 2012. Jeff was an artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. He was a musician; in 1990 and 1991, Jeff was part of the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corp. In 2012, Jeff was recognized by The National Society of Leadership and Success for their National Excellence In Leadership Award. At age 12, he was baptized when he joined Calhoun First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his parents, Polly Shook Bunyard and Robert '"Bobby" Davenport and his wife Helen Anne; sister and her husband, Janet Davenport Leek and Christopher ; cousins, Carol Roberts, Mike Mann, Sheila Turner, Mickey Smith, Mark Smith, and Cheryl McLaughlin; his cat, Leo AKA "The Meow." 

To honor his wishes his body was cremated and a graveside service will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM from the graveside of Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Randy Muse officiating. Honorary pallbearers are, Mickey Smith, Bryan Shoupe, Keller Hearn, Zane Hollingsworth, and Don Roberts. 

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to help cover funeral expenses.
