Obituary

James F. Petty, 82, of Calhoun, Georgia died Monday, March 8, 2021 after two years of declining health. He was born on May 19, 1938 in Gordon County to the late J.E. and Velma Cronon Petty. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann Jones Petty; brother-in-law, Johnny Silvers; granddaughter, Christina Phillips.  

He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Edward(Joy)Petty, Tony(Leah)Petty, and Richard(Augie) Garcia-Petty; daughter, Marie Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey(Connie) Petty; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha Silvers and Eula(Ray)Patterson; grandchildren, Harmony Petty, Michala Petty, Hunter Petty, Abe Perez, Bentley Garcia, Brielle Garcia, and Blake Garcia.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The graveside service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM from the graveside of Gordon Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Jamey Hunt officiating. Pallbearers are, Steve Parris, Jackie Petty, David Patterson, Chad Petty, Ray Silvers, and Dale Silvers.
