Mr. James Edward Farrell, 81, of Resaca, Georgia died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his residence.
James was born in Gordon County, Georgia on June 19, 1939, son of the late Edward and Rosetta Ray Farrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Slaughter; three brothers, Charles, Gene and Leon Farrell; two sisters, Betty Watson and Ginger Davis. He was employed by Bancorp for 47 years, was a graduate of Calhoun High School and a faithful member of New Town Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and Royal Ambassador Leader.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Cross Farrell to whom he was married for 48 years; sons, Kevin (Katrina) Farrell and Scott Wingate; daughters, Gayle Boyd, Tammy (Ray) Tallent; grandchildren, Anthony Robinson, Mika Caldwell, Sarah Hill, Ethan Farrell, Dennis Farrell, Dustin Moore and Wesley Patterson; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister, Callie Ruth Chastain; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A service to celebrate the life of James Edward Farrell will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Hare officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Of Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Sunday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Pallbearers serving will include Ethan Farrell, Mathew Farrell, Wesley Patterson, Anthony Robinson, Chris Caldwell and Dawson Caldwell.
The Farrell family, along with the Brannon family and staff remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the Center of Disease Control as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face mask.
