Obituary

Henry Earl Bolen, 73, of Resaca, Georgia, died Monday, November 21, 2022, after several years of declining health. He was born on August 29, 1949, in Century, Florida to the late Curness and Irma Gentry Bolen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Bolen Knowles.

Henry was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was the director of quality control at Lyles Carpet.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Knight Bolen; daughter, Michele (David) Vowell; stepson, Tony Silvers; brothers, Neal Bolen;  grandchildren, Aaron Vowell and Ashley (Spencer) Jinright; great-grandchildren, Ali Vowell and SJ Jinright; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raybon Knowles, Alfred (Maybelle) Knight, Melvin (Edith) Knight, Shirlene Smith, Maxine McBee, Linda (Billy) Brown, Janie (Steve) Thomas; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow the visitation at 4:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Futch. The family asked that flowers be omitted and donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Henry's memory.
