Obituary

Hazel Pearl DeFoor of Calhoun, Georgia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, after 4 years of declining health. She was born on June 9, 1934 in Kite, Georgia to the late Earnest and Pearl Powell Boulineau. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Tolbert DeFoor.

Hazel is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Rusty) Moore and Judy (Mike) Evelti; and her son, Kelly DeFoor; grandchildren, Hailey (Seth) Robinson, Hayden Housley, Holly Moore, Halle Moore, Michael (Ashley) Evelti, Julianne (Kyle) Farlow, Rachael Evelti, Emily Evelti, Kaycie (Alex) Sutherland, Hannah DeFoor, and Lauren DeFoor; great-grandchildren, Hadley Sutherland, Luke Sutherland and Myles DeFoor. Brother, Bennett Boulineau; sisters-in-law, Nettie Lou (Norman) Hollingsworth, Pat DeFoor and Jane DeFoor.

Hazel was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Hazel enjoyed quilting and was a wonderful seamstress.  She was an avid gardener and grew beautiful flowers. She also loved feeding and watching the birds.

Hazel and her husband, Tolbert owned and operated DeFoor s O.K. Tire Inc. for many years.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Salem Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 22, 2022 at 12:00 noon from Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Hibberts and Rev. Drew Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Hailey Robinson, Michael Evelti, Julianne Farlow, Hayden Housley, Judy and Mike Evelti, Sherry and Rusty Moore, . Honorary pallbearers serving will be members of the Salem Baptist Senior Adult Sunday School Class. The family would like to thank Homespun Hospice for the care of their Mom, Mrs. Hazel DeFoor. The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Mrs. Hazel Pearl DeFoor.
