Geneva Fuquea

August 1, 1926 ~ June 15, 2021 (age 94)


Mrs. Geneva Fuquea, age 94 of the Red Bud Community died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at

Morning Pointe. She was born in Kershaw, South Carolina on August 1, 1926, daughter of Mr. &
Mrs. B.H. Coats and was preceded in death by her husband R.L. Fuquea to whom she was
married for 61 years. She is survived by serval nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Geneva was a well know educator having taught Home Economics at Red Bud High School for
many years prior to her retirement. Geneva was a graduate of Berry College in Rome, Georgia.

Geneva was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, and served in many capacities as teacher
and leader. She was instrumental in Bethesda Baptist Church progressing from a church with
bi-monthly worship services to having weekly worship services and from a bi-vocational pastor
to a full-time pastor.

She was loved dearly by her former students and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gevena Fuquea will be held Friday, June 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM from

Bethesda Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Fain
Cemetery. The deacons of Bethesda Baptist Church will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary
pallbearers are members of Bethesda Adult Ladies Sunday School Class.


The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 17, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Bethesda Baptist Church.
