Bobby Gene Sparks, 76, of Calhoun, Georgia died Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his residence after a 4-year illness. He was born on January 23, 1944 in Calhoun, Georgia to the late John Henry and Hassie Lee Sparks. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Billy Sparks; sister and brother-in-law, Allawayne and Paul Gentry.
He loved his horses. He enjoyed selling his funnel cakes during the fair week and driving his slushee- man truck. But most of all he enjoyed getting to meet many people and becoming friends with them.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years Rosemary Padgett Sparks; his son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Donna Sparks; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Dale Silvers, Rosie and Alex Franklin, Candi and Russell Fite; sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Harold Crump; grandchildren, Justin, Blake, Brett, Savannah, Ashley, Taylor, AJ, Madison, Kimberly, Makayla, Brittany, Destiny, and Patricia; 8 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law , Yvonne Fitzsimmons, Tammy Padgett, Beth Griffis, Naomi Padgett, and Lita and Buddy Padgett; mother-in-law, Mary Padgett; nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM from Trinity Baptist with Rev. Winfred Casey, Rev. Ronnie Branham, and Rev. Johnny Parker officiating. Pallbearers include Brett Slivers, Lee Edwards, Alex Franklin, Makayla Quinton, Branden Elder, and Jamal Walden. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Gentry and Jerome Crump. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with military honors.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral home.
