Willie Mae Brown

Mrs. Willie Mae Rogers Brown, age 83, of Sugar Valley, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007, at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Murray County on May 23, 1923, daughter of the late Rev. A.D. and Ossie Melinda Hensley Rogers. Mrs. Brown was retired from Herbcraft Textile, after her retirement she was employed by the Calhoun City Library and was a member of Sugar Valley Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Brown; parents, the late Rev. A.D. and Ossie Melinda Hensley Rogers, and by two brothers, Dewayne and Willard Rogers.

Survivors include two sons; Jack and Bobby Brown; a daughter, Linda Holsomback; all of Sugar Valley. Three brothers; Glenn and Carlton Rogers both of Sugar Valley and Arvil Rogers of Maryland. Four sisters; Alma Harbin, Lucey Dilbeck, and Estaleen Pulliam all of Calhoun and Margaret Duvall of Rome, GA. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Willie Mae Brown will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. David Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday evening between the hours of 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
