Obituary

Willie Bell Thurman Cowart, 88, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022. She was born on February 19, 1934, to the late Grover and Emma Thurman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Cowart; son, Ray Harold Thurman; brothers and sisters-in-law, GC "Little Bill" and Thelma Thurman, Jim and Margaret Thurman; and niece, Tammy Thurman.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Amber Noelle Ray; great-grandchildren, Stetson Lucas Ray, Luna Brynlee Ray; nieces, Katherine Hogan, Robin Thaggard, Nelda Guthrie, Sheila Gray; and nephews, Ricky Thurman, Danny Thurman, Terry Thurman, and Bobby Thurman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 noon at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow on Wednesday at 1:00 PM from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Rydal, Ga.
