Mr. William David Shellman, 81, of Calhoun died on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at his home, following several months of declining health. William was born in Parsons, Kansas on May 20, 1936; he was the son of the late George W. and Verna Rhea Shellman. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his son, David Wade Shellman; his brother, Russell Shellman; his sister, Aileen Leonard. William was a veteran of The United States Navy. He retired from Rhodes Furniture as a logistics coordinator. He was of the Christian Faith.
William is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Lynette Tromblee Shellman; his daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Lee Fordham, and Marci and Chris Carlson; his sister-in-law, Betty Shellman; his grandchildren, Joshua Everett Steely, Andrea Chelsea Steely, Casandra Von Carlson, and Cory Christopher Arvid Carlson; his great-grandchildren, Ellie Ann Steely, Mason David Steely, Wyatt Michael Lee, and Lucy Kathryn Lee; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The services will be conducted from the Graveside at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family will meet at the gravesite. Honors will be accorded by The United States Navy Honor Guard; Pastor David Ogden will officiate.
