Bill “W.C.” Schroeder, 90, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Bill "W.C." was a long time resident of Naples, Florida and a well-known general contractor, building custom homes from the early 1970's until he retired in 2005. He designed and built homes in every neighborhood from Port Royal to Quail Creek, and was the general contractor for the Designer Showcase home owned by the Stoneburner family in circa 1983.
Bill was the CEO of Show-More Homes, Dove Tree Development, Mike's Hammers and Affordable Housing of SWFL. Bill and his wife Annie worked together for the 20+ years prior to his retirement. They never advertised, but instead let his work and integrity speak for itself resulting in many repeat customers. Although much of his career was spent building homes in more upscale neighborhoods in Naples, he was most proud of the affordable housing he was able to provide to his community and always provided equal quality in every home he built.
After retirement Bill and Annie traveled extensively settling in Bella Vista, AR for 15 years where they made lifelong friends and enjoyed many family adventures in the lake house that they loved. He and Annie then moved to Adairsville, GA in 2020 to be closer to family.
Many knew him as "Good Ole W.C" or just Bill, but he would often refer to himself as "Sweet William" or "Wild Bill" depending on the day. He had a great sense of humor and was a loving, generous husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents John and Inez Reynolds Schroeder; sons, William Carl Schroeder and John Mark Schroeder; brothers, John Schroeder and George Schroeder.
Bill is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Ann Powell; daughters, Carol Hathaway (Scott), Tina Robertson (David), Terri Barrios (Harold), and Angela Snodgrass (Timothy); sister, Susan Hubly; grandchildren, Jessica Ryan, Jennifer Snodgrass, Alyssa Byrd (Stephen), Kathryn Stewart, Wesley Stewart (Bely), Cassandra Wagner (Richard), David Robertson Jr. (Lauri Beth), Kimberly Applewhite (Marshall), Melissa Brothers, John Barfield (Michele), William Barfield (Elizabeth); great-grandchildren, Clayton Ryan, Elijah Ryan, Nicolas Stewart, Evie Byrd, Pristyne, Jonathan, Malachi, and Sha’lyn Wagner, Noah and Samuel Applewhite, Ellen and David III Robertson, Elliot Brothers, Evan, Blake, and Jaidyn Barfield, Claire, Benjamin, and Lilly Barfield; sister-in-law, Vonnie Schroeder; nephew, Steve Schroeder; and niece, Debbie Fisher.
