William “Bill” Vernon Johnson, Jr., 63, of Taylorsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Calhoun, Georgia on April 29, 1960, to the late Willam and Catherine Johnson, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patti Johnson Baker, and the mother of his children, Donna Carver Johnson. He was a self-employed carpenter, a graduate of Calhoun High School, and a member of Reeves Baptist Church and the Sonora Lodge #221 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ellen Griffith Johnson; son, William Johnson III; daughter, Adrianne Johnson; bonus children, Scott (Nacole) Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Robert (Amy) Griffith Jr., Randall Griffith, Bridget (Timmy) Cagle, April (Jeremi) Machoka; sister, Elaine (James) Ross; many precious grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons with Chaplain Greg Hall and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery, with Masons from the Sonora Lodge #221 F&AM serving as pallbearers.
