Willard Eddie Hall

May 18, 1963 — Aug 3, 2026

Willard Eddie Hall, 63, of Sugar Valley, Georgia, passed away at his home on Monday, August 3, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1963, to the late Lloyd Vincent "Boots" Hall and Bertha Rose Upton Hall.

In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Marie Sheriff; his brother, Willard Greg Hall; and his sisters, Debbie Arlene Hall and Ruby Victoria Hall.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Ruth Marie Hall; his son, Willard Amos (Patty Jane) Hall; his daughter, Connie Vanessa (Heath) Hall; his brother, Vincent Lloyd Hall; his grandchildren, Leah (Josh) Temple, Kirsten Hall, Hannah (Gabe) Greene, and Constance (Cameron) Lockridge; his great-grandchildren, Layla and Woodson; his daughter-in-law, Wendy (Shane) Tinch; his mother-in-law, Jean Bivens; and special family friend, Bruce Bowman.

Willard was an avid outdoorsman whose love of hunting spanned a lifetime. Over the years, he harvested many different species, including deer, bear, hogs, and snakes. He had a deep appreciation for God's creation and found peace in the outdoors. He also loved fishing.

A hardworking and talented craftsman, Willard founded Hall's Construction, a company in which he took great pride. Through years of dedication, skill, and honest work, he built beautiful homes throughout the South. Yet while he built houses for a living, his greatest accomplishment was the home he built with his family - a place filled with love, laughter, faith, and open arms.

Willard and the love of his life, Marie, shared a marriage built upon unwavering love and devotion. Together, they created a family whose foundation was Christ. Their home became a place where relatives gathered, friendships grew, and countless memories were made. There was always another chair to pull up to the table, another story to tell, and another person to love. Willard had a gift for making people feel that they belonged, and those who spent time in the Hall home often left feeling like family.

Family gatherings at The Hall’s became the heartbeat of countless cherished memories. Summers were spent splashing in the pool, listening to the rain from the hammocks, laughing through Easter egg tosses, telling ghost stories around the fire, singing karaoke at the top of their lungs, playing Red Rover in the yard, and simply enjoying one another's company. These moments may have seemed ordinary at the time, but they became traditions that shaped generations. Willard was always dreaming of the next family gathering because he believed that life's greatest blessings were found in simply being together.

One of the greatest legacies Willard leaves behind is a simple phrase: "I love you." As a young boy, he rarely heard those words spoken in his own home. Because of that, he made a promise that the people he loved would never have to wonder how he felt. Whether someone was walking out the door or hanging up the telephone, Willard made sure that person heard, "I love you," because he knew tomorrow was never promised. Over time, those words became a tradition carried on by his children, grandchildren, and extended family - a lasting reminder of the love he poured into every life he touched.

Above all else, Willard loved Jesus Christ. His faith was not something he kept to himself; it was woven into his conversations and every part of his life. Whether speaking with family, friends, or complete strangers, he rarely missed an opportunity to share the Gospel and testify to the many miracles God had worked in his life. As a devoted preacher and faithful member of New Living Water Ministries, he boldly proclaimed God's Word and faithfully brought generations of his family to church, praying that they would come to know the same Savior he loved so dearly. More than anything, he wanted everyone he loved to know Jesus and experience the hope of salvation.

Another of Willard's greatest joys was tending the family garden alongside Marie. Their garden always seemed to grow larger and more abundant than anyone expected. Willard often said that every garden should be prayed over, believing that with faith and God's blessing it would flourish. Just as he nurtured the garden, he nurtured the people around him - with patience, encouragement, wisdom, and love.

Together, Willard and Marie raised three children, whom they cherished with all their hearts. Their family continued to grow through four beloved grandchildren, all of whom proudly knew them simply as "Nanny and Poppa," and later through two great-grandchildren. Willard loved each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren beyond measure. He welcomed Patty and Wendy as daughters in every way that mattered. No titles meant more to him than husband, father, and Poppa.

Willard had the biggest heart, even when he did not always let others see it. He could make light of almost any situation simply to bring a smile to someone's face, yet beneath that humor was a tender and deeply compassionate spirit. His greatest joy was serving the people he loved. Even when his body was tired and hurting, he pushed through the pain to help someone in need because putting others before himself came naturally.

Willard's life was defined not by the things he owned, but by the lives he touched. He was a provider, preacher, builder, hunter, fisherman, gardener, storyteller, and friend. More importantly, he was a faithful servant of Christ who devoted his life to loving his family, serving others, and pointing people toward Jesus. His legacy lives on not only in the homes he built and the sermons he preached, but every time his family gathers, every time laughter fills a room, every time someone lends a helping hand, and every time a loved one says, "I love you," before saying goodbye.

To everyone who loved Willard, the family offers its heartfelt thanks. Thank you for being part of his life and for allowing him to be part of yours. Though hearts are broken by his absence, his family rejoices in knowing that he is home with the Lord he faithfully served. Until they meet again, may all who knew him honor his legacy by loving one another deeply, keeping family close, sharing the hope of Christ, and never forgetting to say, "I love you."

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM from Crane Eater Cemetery.

The family of Willard Hall has created a GoFundMe account to help with expenses associated with his passing and to assist his beloved wife, Marie, with future needs. While every donation is deeply appreciated, the family considers prayers to be the greatest gift during this time.
