Obituary

David Mathis, 63, of Calhoun, GA died Monday, January 25, 2021. He was born on February 16, 1957 in Gordon County to the late Hazel Christine Raines and the Late William Hardy Mathis. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Mathis; brothers, Jimmy Mathis, Michael Mathis, and Danny Raines; sister Carolyn Brown.
He is survived by his daughters, Miranda(Brian)Womack and Christie Dixon; brothers, William(Cathy)Mathis and James Lewis Mathis; sister, Frankie(Kenneth)Wilson; grandchildren, Jordan Dupree, Eric Dupree, Lexi Dupree, Britney Dixon, Alexander Dixon, Jasmine Dixon, and Kai Dixon; several friends and other relatives also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Homespun Hospice and Pastor Tim Reid.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Coomer officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include; Chad Barnes, Jason Gentry, Casey Raines, Johnny Brown, Samuel Mathis, and Willie Mathis.
