Obituary

Wilburn Randolph "Pete" Young, 69, of Calhoun, Georgia, died Monday, October 17, 2022. He was born on October 1, 1953, to the late Grady and Willie Mae Rogers Young.
He loved spending time outside in the garden, taking care of his cats, riding through the mountains or just sitting in his front door stoop. He was a simple man that didnt ask a lot from people but would do anything for you. He loved his taters and Sybils fried okra. To meet a kinder soul than Pete, you will not.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sybil and Roy Nix; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sara Young; nieces and nephews, Rayburn Nix, Denise (Eddy) Charles, Sherry Sexton, Joyce Montelongo, Tina Tims, Kasey (James) Fields, Robbie (Rhelda) Young, Charlene Fite, and Bessie (Andrew) Hatt; special friends from the George Chambers Research Center; best friends, Glenda, Pauline, Kim, and Christie; several great nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rayburn Nix, Eddy Charles, Matthew Charles, Andrew Hatt, James Fields, and Fabian Kimbral.
