Mrs. Wanda Gail Rickett, 84, of Calhoun, Georgia departed her earthly life and entered the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, July 15th at her residence with her loving family by her bedside.
She was born in Calhoun, Georgia on April 8, 1941, the daughter of the late Charles Benjamin Carden and Geneva Bess Goble Carden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Rickett; three sisters, Joan (Joe) Gallman, Charlotte (William) Postell, and Deloris (Donny) Barton.
Gail loved working in the yard and the garden and always had a big garden every year. She loved going to all of her kid's, grandkids, and great grandkid's activities. She also loved vacationing in the mountains, especially with James for their anniversary.
She was a charter member of Meadowdale Baptist Church, where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher. She also loved working in the kitchen.
Survivors include her children, Rhonda Rickett, James Rickett Jr. and his wife Debbie, Nathan Rickett and his wife Amy; grandchildren Adam Smith (Billie), Adreana Beaumont (James), William Rickett, Jonathan Rickett, and Jacob Rickett (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Cohen Smith, Callie Smith, Asher Beaumont, Ronan Beaumont, and Waylon Rickett; brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Ida) Carden along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A service to celebrate the life of Wanda Gail Rickett will be held Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 AM at Meadowdale Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Ganong, Rev. Drew Startup, Brian Holland, and Jonathan Rickett officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include Adam Smith, William Rickett, Jonathan Rickett, Jacob Rickett, James Beaumont, and Joey Gallman. Honorary pallbearers include Tony Moss, Steven Moss, and the deacons of Meadowdale Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Meadowdale Baptist Church on Friday, July 18th between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. The church is located at 1811 Rome Road SW, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
