Obituary

Virgil Edmond Pierce, 80, of Calhoun, GA died Sunday, March 7, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born on April 16, 1940 to the late Homer and Annie Mae Pierce. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Eva Birdie Stanley Pierce; brother-in-law, Charlie Langston; infant daughter, Janie.
He was a member of Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Melissa(Eddie)Wright and Mary Sue Ray; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy(Glyneese)Pierce, Tommy(Michele)Pierce, and Rev. Herschel (Tonia)Pierce; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorthey "Dot"(Louis)Bell, Linda(Harold)Mobley, Edith(Jimmy)Allen, Yvonne Sewell, Joanne Langston, Edna(Danny)Parker, and Faye(Ron)Bentley; grandchildren, Chasity Greene, Dale Jackson, and Ty Christion; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Greene, Canyon Jackson, and Caspean Greene; many nieces, nephews, and friends who adored him also survive.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Calhoun Full Gospel Fellowship.
The family will have a private funeral service with Rev. Hershal Pierce and Rev. Joe Fountein officiating. Burial will follow at Crane Eater Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Ronald Balliew, Randy Balliew, Larry Garland, Rickey Pierce, Roger Davis, and Gabriel Greene. Honorary pallbearers are, Don Edwards, Brian Pierce, Ron Bentley, Tom Millsap, Tye Christion, and Jackie Keener.
