Obituary

Mrs. Violet Rose Powell Adams, 85, of Calhoun passed away Sunday afternoon in Gordon Health Care.
She was born in Gilmer County, Georgia on March 21, 1936, daughter of the late Dewey and Josie Ellis Waters, At the age of 12, she and her family moved to Gordon County, and she attended and graduated from Red Bud High School. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Georgia Tufters for over 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Billy Powell and by two brothers, Cotton Waters and Claude Waters and by three half-brothers, Floyd Waters, Lyle Hyde and J.V.Waters, one half-sister, Jewel Waters.
Survivors include her husband, Tony Adams, Sons; Randy (Jeronda) Powell and Ronnie (Michael Stowers) Powell ; niece, Regina Wyatt; stepchildren, Amanda, Danid, Tony Jr, and Shane Adams. Along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate the life of Violet Rose Powell Adams will be held Saturday, July 17th at 7:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Eddie Brannon officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Honorary pallbearers serving will include Michael Stowers, Jane Bryant Debbie Callahan Thompson, Jeronda Powell, Regina Wyatt and Ronnie Reece.
In lieu of flowers, and due to her battle with Alzheimers, the family ask that donations be made the the Alzheimers Foundation in her memory.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family.
