Obituary

Mrs. Vicki Lynn "Carter" Neal, 47, of Resaca, died Wednesday. March 3, 2021 at WellStar Medical Center at Austell, Georgia.
Vicki was born in Whitfield County, Georgia on August 2, 1973, daughter of the late Ronald T. and Linda Lee Buchannan Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jonathan Morrison.
She was a loving mother to her son, Alex and a dedicated wife to Wayne, was member of the 1992 graduating class at Dalton High School, served as a youth leader at Hill City Baptist Church where she is a member, was a Band Mother at Gordon Central High School. Prior to her recent illness, she was employed by the Gordon County Board of Education as a substitute teacher at Ashworth Middle School.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Rev. Wayne Neal; son, Alex Neal; sister, Angie Morrison Chitwood and her husband David of Chatsworth; brothers, Jeff Carter and his wife Leah of Ringgold, and Chris Carter of Athens, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A service to celebrate the life of Vicki Lynn Carter Neal will be conducted Saturday, March 6th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Hill City Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Paul Parker, Ron Carter, Bill Thompson, Chris Darnell, Brian Holland, Dan Jones, Rodney Goble and Brian Bailey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 5th between the hours of 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
Flowers are accepted but in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Gordon Central High School Band or Hill City Baptist Church.
The Neal family, along with the staff of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home remind anyone in attendance to keep in mind the current guidelines and restrictions set forth by the CDC as it pertains to social gatherings including social distancing, gathering limits, and face masks.
