Mr. Troy Wayne Carver, 78 of Calhoun, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Pickens County, GA on February 28, 1939, son of the late Lance Albert and Lois Patterson Carver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Wofford Carver.
Troy was a retired textile supervisor, and was a member of Hinton Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Jason Jaco of Calhoun; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Thurmand and Mary Carver of Talking Rock, Howard and Judy Carver of Talking Rock, and James Carver of Calhoun; a sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Emory Watson of Blue Ridge; his grandson, Jordan Tanner Jaco; and step-grandchildren, Hannah, Taylor, Jared, and Jada Jaco. Several nieces and nephews, and special friend and caregiver, Misty Clements, also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mr. Troy Wayne Carver will be held Thursday, April 6th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Gene Childers, Rev. Eddie Brannon, and Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Hinton Community Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Trenton Roper, Barry Roper, Joey Strickland, Tony Watson, David Carver, and Howard Carver. Honorary pallbearers are Lane Strickland, Alec Strickland, Bobby Darnell, Will Hughes, Larry Robertson, and Mike Woodward.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 5th from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
