Tolliver Cecil Minter

May 8, 1949 — March 3, 2023

Tolliver Cecil Minter, or as he would have introduced himself “Cecil T. Minter’s” at the age of 73, out of Sugar Valley, Georgia, passed away on March 3rd, 2023. Cecil was known, and loved, by so many individuals throughout his life, many of which either working alongside, or knowing of him through his 40 plus years of service to first Crown Crafts Inc, and then ultimately retiring from Mohawk. In the years following his retirement Cecil’s health would decline, however his witty sense of humor, and infectious jolly attitude never did so. Cecil was born in Piedmont, Alabama on May 8th of 1949. He is preceded in death by his first-born infant son James Tolliver Minter, mother, and father Gladys Motes Minter, and Tolliver Minter. Along with his late sister Shirley Long, two brother-in-law’s Roy Burgess SR, Arvil Parker, mother-in-law Ruby Hall, and father-in-law James Hall.


He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Elizabeth Minter, and son, Michael Lee Minter, and spouse Donna Lynn Bradley, granddaughter, Kaylea Elexis, two sisters, Marie Spell, and Brenda Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Mary Burgess, and Linda Parker as well as a long list of nieces, and nephews.



The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers are Roy Burgess JR, Timmy Parker, Stephen Parker, Tim Wilson, Marshall Greeson, and Brady Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Clayton, James Parker, and Anthony Clayton.



The visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.


Margaret would like to give an additional special thanks to the nurses, and Hospice Care providers that helped make Cecil’s final days as comfortable as possible. Thank you all for taking such great care of my darling husband.
