Obituary

Thomas Q Petty, 83, of Ranger, Georgia died Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born on August 3, 1939, in Blue Ridge, Georgia to the late Floyd and Lois Green Petty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Doyle (Travis) Petty; sister, Priscilla Elaine Petty.
Thomas was a very faithful member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN prior to his failing health. Prior to retirement he was a traffic electrical engineer for the City of Atlanta.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Elizabeth Petty; sons, Richard (Valinda) Petty and Thomas Aaron (Renae) Petty; daughter, Tammy Renae Petty; brothers, Floyd W. (Loretta) Petty and Rev. Dennis (Amelia) Petty; sister, Joan (Clarence) Moore; grandchildren, Marshall, Montana, Brittany (Aaron), and Augusts; great grandchildren, Sophia, Amelia, and Stetson; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
A graveside service will be held Monday, December 26, 2022, at 11:00 am from Fain Cemetery with Bro. Tim McCulley and Pastor Wesley Hunt officiating.
