Obituary

Mr. Terry Lamar Poarch, 75, of Lafayette, Georgia, formerly of Calhoun, Georgia, passed from this life on December 16, 2022.
Terry was born in Gordon County, Georgia on January 9, 1947, the son of the late Carlton and Virginia Sparks Poarch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Poarch and a sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Buck Hawkins. He was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Red Bud High School, a veteran of the United States Navy, and formerly owned and operated Poarch Grocery in the Red Bud Community for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Johnson Poarch; two daughters, Carla Poarch and Kelli Poarch Findley and her husband Deke; sons, Cameron Poarch and his wife Bertha and Christopher Lamar Poarch; Step-daughter, Sherry Pitts and her husband Bill; two sisters, Barbara Poarch Bishop and her husband Hillard, Deshea Poarch Heffner and her husband Greg; brothers, Sam Poarch and his wife Debbie, Chuck Poarch and his wife Kelly; sister-in-law, Patricia Davis Poarch; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 1:00 PM from Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home chapel, with Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow in Crane Eater Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Tim Outlaw, Rusty Robertson, Beaver Robertson, Christopher Fairbanks, Jared Holman, and Riley Henson. Honorary pallbearers will include Andrew Pitts, Nick Pitts, Nevin Gentry Jr., Hunter Robertson, and Holden Robertson.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home on Monday, December 19th, between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
