Tanya Iris (Miley) Johnson, 84, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026. She was born in Hahira, Georgia, on September 10, 1941, to the late Norwood and Rhona Miley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James “Jim” Howard Pascal Johnson; brother, Marshall Miley; and sister, Karen Flowers Gans.

Prior to retirement Tanya was a teacher and assistant principal for Calhoun City Schools. She was a member of the Caregivers Group, The Retired Teachers Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, and a master gardener with the Sequoyah Garden Club. In her free time Tanya loved to garden, play bridge with her long-time friends, and was a licensed pilot. She was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church and part of the Mattie Lou Strain Sunday School Class.

Tanya is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Lisa Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Autumn and Jon Hagle; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Karen Miley, George and Betty Baggs, Wayne and Jemima Horton; grandchildren, Clay and Molly Johnson, Breanna and Landon Smith, Ashley and Nicholas Cardamone, Sarah Hagle, and Austin and Kaitlyn Hagle; great-grandchild, Coy Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

A memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Burt Vaughn officiating. Honorary pallbearers are the Mattie Lou Strain Sunday School Class.

The family asks that all attendees wear black and gold or red and black.
