Obituary

Tanya Dawn Blalock, 64, of Dunwoody, went home to be with her heavenly father on December 14, 2021.
Tanya had the purest of souls and an endless abundance of love in her heart. She was loved by all who knew her.
On December 29, 1956, she was born to Fred & Myra Jo Collins in Atlanta, Georgia.
Tanya pursued her educational dreams beginning at Shorter College, where she earned her BS in Biology in the Class of 1978, and furthered her education to earn a Masters of Health Physics from Georgia Institute of Technology, Class of 1984.
On January 20, 1990, Tanya and Mitchell married and have one son, John Collins Blalock, 28.
Tanya retired from Georgia Power after thirty eight years of service, finishing her career as an Environmental Affairs General Manager. She was a member and former President of the Board of Trustees for the Chattahoochee Nature Center.

Tanya is preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Myra Jo Collins, brother Tommy Tyrone Hill, and Mother-in-love, Mary Blalock.
Due to ongoing construction at the Chattahoochee Nature Center, the family has decided to postpone the Celebration of Life until the Spring. This will give those in attendance an opportunity to enjoy all that the Center has to offer, including the aviaries and the many gardens which will be in bloom.
