Obituary

Syble Smith, age 91 of the Newtown community passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022, after several years of declining health. She was born on March 2, 1931 in Chatsworth, GA to the late E.C. Hall and Emma (Wagnon) Hall.
Syble was married to her husband Frank Smith for 46 years whom preceded her in death in 2005. Her youngest son Eron Smith also preceded her in death in 2017. Syble was likewise preceded in death by her two brothers, Ray and Morris Hall as well as two sisters, Gladys Thomas and Luella Rogers.
Syble was a lifelong home maker. She loved baking cakes and frying pies for the community. She cherished taking care of her elderly parents, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, scratch off tickets, bingo, and most importantly loved watching the Atlanta Braves. She was able to witness the Braves win two world series in her lifetime.
She is survived by her two sons, Barry Smith, Hal (Donna) Smith. A brother, Frank (Sandra) Hall, all of Calhoun. Grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Carly Smith (Trey Rogers), and Kelly (Cody) McCormack. Great Grandchildren, Presley Smith, Layton McCormack, and soon to be born twins, Arlo and Ellis Rogers. Several nieces and nephews survive.
Sybles visitation will take place on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Syble will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with family and relatives at the gravesite at Casey Springs Cemetery in Murray County. Pallbearers include Tyler Smith, Cody McCormack, David Hall, Bobby McFry, Barry Troglin, and Larry Walraven.
The Smith family would like to give a special thanks to Gordon Health Care and Affinis Hospice for the compassion, care, and love they provided Syble in the last few years and months. The Smith family would also like to thank Max Brannon and Sons Funeral for the care and compassion during this difficult time.
