Obituary

Mr. Sidney Guy Autry, 63, of the Plainville Community died Friday, August 19, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton following a brief illness.
He was born in Rome, Georgia on August 10, 1958, son of the late Henry Ralph Autry and Blanche Boyd Autry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ann Autry, and by a brother, Michael Autry.
Sidney was employed by the Gordon County Public Works Department; he was a cattle farmer and was a member of the 1976 graduation class of Calhoun High School and was a member of the football team.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Martin Autry to whom he was married for 35 years; daughters, Holly (Michael) Kelley, Christy Greeson, and Misty House Rogers, sons, Dwayne (Beth) Autry and Lamar (Jennifer) House; grandchildren, Chandler Autry, Jacob Greeson, Seth Rogers, Reece Rogers, Jeffery House, Asher Autry, Ethan Autry, Jazmine House, Riley Kelley, and Kaitlyn Queen; great-grandchild, Aslan Rogers; mother-in-law, Geraldine Martin, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Sidney Guy Autry will be Sunday, August 22nd at 4:00 PM at Meadowdale Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Pearson and Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Drew Startup officiating.
Pallbearers serving will include Zachary Millsap, Justin Millsap, Chesley Millsap, Joe Moreno, Paul Jackson, Phillip Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers will include members of Gordon County Public Works.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 22nd at Meadowdale Baptist Church between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 PM.
Due to the outbreak of COVID 19 and the serious health risk involved, masks will be required for all attendees.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Sidney Autry.
