Shelbia Jean Touchstone

Shelbia Jean Cook Touchstone, 74, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. She was born on October 21, 1949, to the late Glenn Cook and Elsie Reeves Cook. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Cook.

Prior to her retirement, Shelbia worked for Mohawk Industries. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Tech Basketball. She adored her grandchildren and always kept up with their activities. She also enjoyed visiting the beach.

Shelbia is survived by her daughters, Tonya (Glenn) Goodroe and Jayla (Shane) Serritt; sister, Linda (Mike) Connally; grandchildren, Thomas Goodroe, Kristen Goodroe, Chandler Serritt, and Alivia Serritt; and her dearest friend, Johnny Anderson.     

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gay officiating. Music will be arranged by Donna Gay. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Glenn Goodroe, Shane Serritt, Thomas Goodroe, Chandler Serritt, Kip Connally, and Chris Cook.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gordon County Senior Center at 150 Cambridge Ct. Calhoun, GA 30701 or to the Gideons International at P.O. Box 1254 Calhoun, GA 30703.
