Shane Daugherty

Michael Shane Daugherty, 43, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2024, following a pulmonary arrest while on his job.

Shane was born in Whitfield County, Georgia, on February 12, 1981, the son of Dianne Robertson Frix and Michael Hugh Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his dad, John W. Frix, on June 17, 2023.

He was a member of the 2000 graduating class of Gordon Central High School, having been a member of the Warriors Football Team. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors with family and friends, fishing, and hunting. He was artistic, an accomplished woodworker, and enjoyed playing his guitar. He had been employed for the past 22 years as a sales representative with Pepsi.

Survivors include his wife, Hannah Daugherty; daughters Ella, Harper, and Ember Daugherty; mother, Dianne Robertson Frix; brother Chris Frix and his wife Rhonda; nephews Drake Frix and Tigger Frix; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

A service to celebrate Shane’s life will be held Wednesday, September 4th at 1:00 PM from Heritage Baptist Church, 345 Curtis Parkway SE, Calhoun, GA 30701. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery, 4310 Red Bud Road NE, Calhoun, GA 30701. Pallbearers serving include Matthew Pitts, Michael Raven, Josh DeFoor, Dennis Edwards, Preston Edwards, and Jamison Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will include Issac Ball, Ricky Robertson (Little Ricky), Donny Robertson, Clay Keith, Andrew Keith, and Bubba Thomas.

Shane’s love for his children and family and his passion for life will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 3rd, between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
