Scott Edwin Smith, 61, of Calhoun departed this life on March 20, 2026, at Calhoun Crossings Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on June 13, 1964, son of Delories Smith Dean and the late Rex Smith. In addition to his father, Scott was preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard Dean. Prior to symptoms beginning with ALS, he was employed by Milliken Corporation and was a member of the 1982 graduating class of Calhoun High School.

Survivors include his two sons, and daughters-in-law, Jonathan (Hanna) Smith, Jarrod (Jessica) Smith; grandchildren, Rae Smith, Ava Smith, and Jemma-Kate Smith; mother, Delories Dean; sister, Sharon Smith, and brother, Craig Smith; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

A service to celebrate Scott’s life will be held Saturday, March 28th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Burns officiating. The eulogy will be by a longtime friend, Kevin Casey.

A gathering of Family and friends will be Saturday, March 28th between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Scott’s wish was to be cremated.
