Obituary

Sara Lou Frix Hogan, 79, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022. She was born in Gordon County on August 13, 1942 to the late William Fred Frix Sr. and Mamie Allene Howell Frix. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Larry Hogan; son, Mark Hogan; son-in-law, Randy Hendrix; brothers, William Fred Frix Jr., Rev. Loy Frix, and Rev. Tony Frix; sister, Ivanell Frix Lewis; sister-in-law, Winifred Frix.
Sara was a pastors wife for 44 years and retired from Kmart in 1998. Sara was part of the 1961 graduating class of Adairsville High School.
Sara is survived by her daughter, Lynn Hogan Hendrix; daughter-in-law, Pam Sills and her husband, Neal; grandchildren, Will Hogan and Connor Hogan; siblings, Daisy Gilreath (Wendell) and John Frix; sister-in-law, Gloria Frix; and brother-in-law, Bill Lewis. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 7, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow the visitation on Monday at 1:00 PM from Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Gregg Free officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Pallbearers are Al Frix, Jerry Frix, Terry Frix, Tim Frix, Stephen Frix, and Roger Gilreath.
