Ruth Hayes

Ruth (Miller) Hayes, 90, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee, to the late John Thomas and Jeanette Holloway Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Verlyn Hayes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walker and Mamie Hayes; brothers-in-law, Paul Hayes, Eugene Hayes, Lamar Davis; and sister-in-law, Margaret Whitfield.

Ruth retired from Horizon Carpet.

Ruth is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Yvette and Donald Stanley, Kyle and Danny Lovingood; grandchildren, Derek (Jennifer) Stanley, Tiffany (Jacob) Hammontree, Brittany (Seth) Bone, Dustin Lovingood, Jose Torrens; great-grandchildren, Gunnar and Leland Hammontree; brothers-in-law, Robert (Dixie) Hayes, Clyde (Phyllis) Hayes; and sisters-in-law, Greta Hayes, Eva Hayes, Helen Davis, and Shirley (Richard) Gibson.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023,  at 3:00 PM, from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Casey Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers are Billy Hiles, Mike Miller, Derek Stanley, Dustin Lovingood, Clint Hayes, Chad Hayes, and Billy Wilson.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
