Ruth Guess

Ruth Cochran Guess, 96, of Calhoun, Georgia went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Ranger, Georgia on June 29, 1927, the daughter of the late Paul and Vera Williams Cochran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ottrell Guess; son, Travis Guess; son-in-law, Lawrence Silvers; sisters, Ruby Cochran Kelley McDaniel, and Lillian P. Cochran; brothers, J.R. Cochran, Glenn (Frances) Cochran and Jimmy Cochran. Mrs. Guess was of the Christian Faith and was oldest living member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Guess Silvers of Ranger; daughter-in-law, Sherry Guess of Gillsville, Ga ; grandchildren, Ashley Silvers, Jonathan Silvers, Joanna Silvers Cantrell, Christopher Silvers, Sharron Adams, David Guess, Beth Dukes and Benjamin Guess; 21 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one great-great grandchild on the way; sisters in law, Lois Cochran, New Brockton, AL, Violet and Billy Wilson of Marietta, Georgia and Jean Usher of Maryville, TN; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 29th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Ashley Silvers officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 29^th between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
