Ruby Lee Silvers

Mrs. Ruby Lee Silvers, age 71 of Plainville, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at the residence, following three months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on October 15, 1935, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Westbrooks Stansell. Mrs. Silvers was a homemaker in her lifetime and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Silvers; brothers; Charlie Glenn (Bud) Stansell, Clyde Jackson (Jack) Stansell, Raymond Stansell, and Norris Stansell; and sisters; Lizzy Mae Stansell King and Francis Stansell Ray.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law; Billy and Rosie Silvers of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law; Joann and William Hobbs of Plainville; four grandchildren; Amanda Clayton, Joseph Pugh, Tiffany Silvers, and Billy A. Silvers; and two great-grandchildren; Tyler Pugh and Macayla Clayton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Lee Silvers will be conducted Sunday, June 17, at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. R.V. Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in the Stansell Cemetery in Villanow. Active pallbearers will include Jason Stansell, Scotty Stansell, Sammy Ray, Vince Gulledge, and Mike Bohannon. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 1:30pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 12:00 noon.
