Obituary

Rosa Mae Smith, 77, of Adairsville, Georgia, died July 17, 2021, after a few years of declining health. She was born on September 13, 1943, in Calhoun, Georgia to the late Hugh and Nellie McDougle Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Creed; daughter, Susan; brother, Ralph Smith; sisters, Bernice, Alene, Virginia, Joy, Lois, and Betty.
Rosa Mae was a loving mother. She always made sure the family had the best of what they needed; everything even school clothes shopping was, like everything she took part in, a fun event. She loved the outdoors: swimming, taking pictures, videos, playing softball and being with friends. Her beach vacations were among her favorite adventures. She made every holiday special. When she was inside, she was busy cooking, quilting, and making those around her laugh. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She passed her love of music on to her daughters and her grandchildren. Her greatest gift to them is that Rosa Mae taught them to live knowing that the glass is always half full.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa and son-in-law,Skeeta Moore; brother, Robert; sisters, Georgie and Willie; grandchildren, Zachary, Gabriel, Sara, and Samuel; great-grandchild, Bentley Dillon.
The family will receive friends on Friday July 23, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Her body will lie in state Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 12 noon until the service hour of 1:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
