Ronnie Lee Thomas

Ronnie Lee Thomas, 69, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1957, to the late Calvin and Shirley Dean Thomas.

Ronnie was a member of Boone Ford Baptist Church where he served as the Church Clerk, Assistant Pianist, and Assistant Choir Director.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Teresa “Darlene” Thomas; son, Daniel L. Thomas (Merecia); daughter, Kristen Stover (Tim); brothers, Michael Thomas (Sue), Lamar Thomas (Kathy), James Thomas (Onie), Billy Thomas (Mandy); sisters, Wanda Rollins (Scooby), Lisa Cross, Jennifer Biddy; grandchildren, Matthew Stover, Lydia Stover, and Amelia Thomas; uncles and aunts, Paul Thomas, Larry Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, Johnny Dean, Joyce May, and Judy Turner. Several nieces and nephews, extended family, church family, and his work family also survive. He leaves behind many friends and family who loved each other dearly. He will surely be missed by so many.

Ronnie loved his family fiercely and was the best dad to his children, and the best PawPaw to his 3 grandchildren. He was also an honorary PawPaw and father to many others who loved and adored him. He treated them like his own. Ronnie was a talented musician, who spent many years as the pianist for his home churches. He traveled and sang with his parents and siblings as The Thomas Family and later as a member of The Crossroad Singers, spreading the Gospel through music. As an avid and dedicated fisherman who had attained self-proclaimed “legendary” status, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family enjoying God’s creation with a rod and reel in his hand. As a hobby woodworker and craftsman, he enjoyed spending his free time turning scraps of wood into beautiful birdhouses and other creations for those he loved.

He was a graduate of Model High School and had a lifelong career in the carpet industry, working many years for Carriage industries, Shaw, and retiring from Dixie Group.

He was a devoted Christian and lived his life fully for Jesus Christ. He loved his church family and spared no effort in volunteering wherever needed.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Rosedale. Pallbearers are Michael Thomas, Lamar Thomas, Billy Thomas, Daniel Thomas, Tim Stover, and Scooby Rollins. Honorary pallbearers are James Thomas and Matthew Stover.
