Robert Eugene Petty

Robert Eugene Petty, 87, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was born in Trion, Georgia, on January 1, 1939, to the late Martin and Elizabeth Petty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Mae Petty; son, Darrell Petty; and siblings, Howard Petty, Hazel Petty Hayes, and Herman “Bit” Petty.

Robert is survived by his children, Dennis Lamont Petty (Chris) and Donna Lanette Thomas (Ernest); sister, Claudia Ruth Edwards; grandchildren, Lakeya Petty, Jessica Thomas, Jenny Petty, Daniel Petty, and Jeremy Thomas; and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM from Fain Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Hunt officiating. Pallbearers are Jeremy Thomas, Daniel Petty, Patrick Thomas, Avery Bowling, Keith Garner, and Deaglan Thomas.
