Obituary

Robert Jerry Smith, 72, of the Hinton Community died Monday, February 7, 2022, after four months of declining health. He was born on January 23, 1950, in Calhoun, Georgia to the late J.B. and Carrie Densmore Smith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Randolph and Sue Harris
Prior to his retirement, Robert lived in Floyd County, GA, and was employed by Floyd Junior College for 30 years.
He is survived by his brothers, Renes Smith and Vernon Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Stella (Buddy) Leonard, Mary (Kenneth) Taylor, Janice (Ben) Chastain, and Claire (Ronnie) Scott.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The Funeral will be conducted on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Fout and Chaplin Steven Harthorn officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Forrest Memorial Park in Jasper, GA. Pallbearers serving are Alford Harris, Russell Harris, James Harris, Chris Smith, Josh Scott, and Randy Randolph. Honorary pallbearers, Levon Boling and Jonathan Boling.
