He was an accomplished North Cobb High School athlete in both basketball and golf, and served as President of North Cobbs Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also won the State Championship in golf during his high school career.

Robby was a loving father to his six children, a passionate Georgia football fan, and a devoted Christian. He had a wonderful sense of humor and kept those around him laughing at his stories, wittiness, and warmth.
In his well-worn Bible he had marked a devotional, At Home with Jesus, that said: "Yes, we mournbut we have hopebright hope for tomorrow, when all who trust in Jesus as Savior will move beyond pain and grief forever because we shall be forever with the Lord."
