Richard "Aaron" Paradis

Richard "Aaron" Paradis, 48, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026. He was born in Killeen, Texas, on December 1, 1977, to Richard Leo Paradis and Donna Schmittling Paradis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and May Paradis, Donald and Marcella “Sally” Schmittling; uncles, Bruce Paradis, Donald “Butch” Schmittling, and David Schmittling; and aunt, Alice Nelson.

In addition to his parents, Aaron is survived by his wife of 15 years, Whitney Hollis Paradis; children, Richard “Wright” Paradis and Emmie Blaine Paradis; brother and sister-in-law, Torry and Jennifer Paradis; mother and father-in-law, Cheryl and Dale Hollis; brothers-in-law, Cory Hollis and Tyler Hollis; sister-in-law, Jo De Hollis; nieces, Olivia Paradis, Ashlyne Paradis, Hannah Hollis, Hailey Hollis, and Isabelle Hollis; uncles, Larry Paradis, Ray Paradis, Barry Paradis, Gary Paradis, Dennis Schmittling; aunts, Debbie Martin, Diane Hemmer, Debra Leroy, and Pam Balkenbusch.

Aaron was the baby, the child, the teen, and the man who always lived strongly. Testing his limits, never rested, so much energy, with no fear. An adventurous life from beginning to end, Aaron experienced the thrill of life. He was always joking and smiling. He was loved by many and loved so intensely in return. He was extremely adaptive in new places, of which he experienced many.

He was a great son, an affectionate brother, a fantastic father, and a loving husband. He held true to his mantra, “I did it my way”. He will be missed tremendously.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Calhoun First Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM from Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. John Barber and Rev. Andrew Crawford officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Torry Paradis, Ryan Schmittling, Cory Hollis, Tyler Hollis, Kevin Kicklighter, Andrew Waller, Wesley Alexander, Jeremy Traywick, Eric Jones, Bobby Parris, Chandler Gordon, Nick Price, Joe VanGiller, and Pat Ferbert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the benevolence account for the Paradis family. Checks can be made payable to the Benefit of Aaron Paradis at Builtwell Bank P.O. Box 2075 Calhoun, Ga 30703 or deposited in person at 197 WC Bryant Parkway Calhoun, Ga 30701.
