Obituary

Phillip Charles Brookshire, known as Shorty to his friends, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Redmond Hospital after years of declining health. He was born on April 4, 1952 in Everglades City, FL.
After graduating High School he joined the US Army and later the National Guard where he served his country proudly for 19 years before retiring as a Staff Sargent. For many years he was a machinist at Fafnir; he retired as a machine maintenance tech from Anheuser Buch.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karin Brookshire; his children, Gloria Springfield, Cynthia Brookshire(T.J. Ezell), and Katie Brookshire; his grandchildren, Walker Brookshire, Kendall Springfield, and Madison Springfield; sisters, Cindi(Donald) Blalock, and Teresa (James)Baxter; brother, Coley Brookshire; five nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coley and Gloria Brookshire a son-in-law Lee Springfield, and nephew Chad Brookshire.
To honor his wishes his body was cremated and a memorial gathering will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
