Peggy Cox Nix

Mrs. Peggy Cox Nix, 77 of the Sonoraville community, died Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Gwinnett County, GA on March 30, 1939, daughter of the late Doyle and Flora Kilgore Cox.
Survivors include her husband, William Nix; her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Shirley Nix of Fairmount, and William and Donna Nix of Calhoun; a brother, Johnny Cox of Manville, LA; a sister, Betty Harris, of Newland, NC; a granddaughter, Alexandra Nix; and aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Peggy Cox Nix will be held Wednesday, March 1st at 2:00 PM from Philadelphia Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim McCulley and Rev. Sammy Allen officiating. Mrs. Nix will lie in state at the church on Wednesday, one hour before the service. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Jim Cudd, Jr., Phillip Cudd, Stephen Cudd, Richard Petty, Shane Sullivan, and Ray Melero. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Leonard and J. Guthrie.
The Nix family will receive friends at Philadelphia Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 28th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
For memorials, the family suggests memorials be made in Mrs. Nixs name to the Philadelphia Baptist Church Missions Fund.
