Patsy "Pat" Kidd Shepard, born on November 25, 1939, in Gadsden, Alabama, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Gordon Health Care following several years of declining health. A devoted housewife and homemaker, Pat dedicated her life to her family, nurturing a warm and loving home filled with joy and support. She was the daughter of the late Houston Kidd and Geraldine "Jerrie" Simms Kidd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Grover Lunsford.
Pat was a proud graduate of Hopes Bluff High School in her hometown and carried the values of her education throughout her life. She had a wonderful gift for music, sharing her talent by singing in church alongside her mother, who played the piano. Her melodic voice brought comfort and joy to many, particularly during her time as a resident at Gordon Health Care, where she enjoyed singing for her peers.
Known for her compassionate nature, Pat always loved to help others, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her warm spirit and caring demeanor will be missed by all who crossed her path.
She is survived by her loving family, including her step-daughters, Elizabeth Kerr and Connie Hudgens; her sisters, Nona Lunsford; Sandra Kidd, and Kathy (James) Amos, nephews, Dr. Michael Oliver, Mark Oliver, and Scott Lunsford; her great nephew, Ethan Lunsford; her great niece, Addison Lunsford; and her great nephews, Andrew, Jonathan, Samuel, Thomas, and Daniel Oliver. Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, cherished by her cousins and other relatives who will remember her fondly.
A visitation will be held on Monday November 3, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Both services will take place at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, located at 705 Old Red Bud Road, Calhoun, GA, 30701. Dr. Michael Oliver will officiate, and Scott Lunsford will give the eulogy. Burial will follow in Chandley Cemetery.
Pat's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will shine brightly through the kindness she shared with others throughout her life.
