Obituary

Mrs. Patsy A. Cooper, 85, 0f Calhoun, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at the residence of her daughter.
Patsy was born in Calhoun, Georgia on January 20, 1936, the daughter of the late Gordon Lee Avery and Sara Hardy Avery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Hubert Henry Cooper in 2014; son, Mark Cooper in 1996; infant daughter, Patti Lee Cooper; sister, Judy Evans; brother, Larry Avery and a grandson, Joey Cooper.
She was a graduate of Calhoun High School and prior to her retirement she was employed by Mannington Mills in Human Resources and was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara Cooper Travis and her husband Don; son, Geary Cooper and his wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Jonathon Cooper (Ashley), Leah Dodd (Jerome), Avery Turnipseed (Dustin), William Travis, Zane Cooper Torey) Zeke Cooper; Ethan Eden; great-grandchildren, Aron, Aeva-Grace, Noah, Ella, Milo, Harlan and Tessa Cooper, Jack, and Andi Turnipseed; sister, Nicki Faulkner and her husband Charles. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A service to celebrate her life will be conducted Friday, November 5th at 11:00 am from Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Gaines Cemetery at Sonoraville. Pallbearers serving will include Jonathon Cooper, Dustin Turnipseed, Zane Cooper, Joseph Evans, Paul Avery, Brian Avery, Richard Faulkner, Tommy Hall, and James Steele. Michael Faulkner will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 4nd, between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Coopers body will be placed in state at the church at 10:00 am Friday at First Baptist Church.
