Patricia Wilson Bradley

April 3, 1944 — March 12, 2007

Patricia Wilson Bradley died on March 12, 2007 in Adairsville, Georgia, after a long illness. Born in Bartow, Florida in 1944 and raised in Haines City, Florida, Patricia attended Haines City High School. She married Oliver Perry Bradley, a pharmacist, in 1962. They had three daughters while living in Marietta, Georgia, and then moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1975. There they enjoyed raising their daughters, boating, and entertaining friends and family. She was President of Civitan Club and active in PTA and her daughters' orchestra program. Patricia was a realtor and then a stay-at-home mother while helping run the family pharmacy, Sharp's Drugs. She and her husband returned to Georgia in 2002, where she lived her remaining years in their home on flowing freshwater Lynn Creek in Adairsville.

As a child, Pat loved climbing trees and playing in the vast orange groves of Central Florida. Later, she was especially happy boating the clear green Gulf waters and collecting shells on the warm sandy shores. She had such a sense of fascination and gratitude about the world that it was almost as if she saw a form of beauty that was imperceptible to others. Pat was a true philanthropist and humanitarian, and often placed other's needs above her own. She made the world a better place through small but significant acts whether it was nursing an injured seagull back to health, buying shoes for the children of a poor migrant family, or welcoming an elderly nursing home resident into her home for Christmas.

Surviving are her husband, Oliver Bradley, dog Benji, daughters Lynn Kohut (Cartersville, GA), Jennifer Benners (Marietta, GA), and Mary Anne Etheridge (Tallahassee, FL), and ten grandchildren; Alyssa, Ryan, Whitney, Brandon, Bailey, Sydney, Kelsey, Bradley, William, and Grant. Also surviving are her sisters, Harriet Garrett (Lexington, SC), Mary Wilson (Bradenton, FL), and Sharon Delay (Cumming, GA). She was recently preceded in death by her sister, Julie Duckett (Snellville, GA).

Memorial services will be held at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home in Calhoun, Georgia on Friday, March 16. Visitation will begin at 11:00am with service to follow at 1:00pm. Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Hospice.
